Version 1.0 · Effective 14 May 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your school's access to and use of ProofSchool, a software service operated by ProofChain Private Limited, a company incorporated in India (“ProofChain”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or paying for a subscription, the school and the named principal-administrator (collectively, “School”, “you”) accept these Terms.
ProofSchool is a teacher-assessment platform aligned with the CBSE School Quality Assessment & Assurance Framework (“SQAAF”) developed by PARAKH/NCERT. It collects anonymous student, peer, and self feedback; admits structured principal ratings; evaluates teaching artifacts using third-party AI models; and produces per-teacher reports the School may upload to the SARAS portal as supporting evidence.
ProofChain is a SQAAF Implementation Partner. ProofChain is NOT a CBSE-empanelled accreditation agency. Final SQAAF accreditation ratings are determined by CBSE-certified Peer Assessor Teams during external assessment. ProofSchool reports are evidence; they are not accreditation decisions. This disclaimer is also printed on every report generated by the platform.
A subscription is purchased on behalf of one named School entity. The principal-administrator named at signup is the School's authorised representative and is responsible for all activity under the account.
ProofSchool is sold as an annual subscription, billed upfront as a one-time order via Razorpay. Each subscription includes a tier-specific allowance of assessment credits, where one credit funds one AI-generated teacher report. Tiers, included credits, and per-overage rates are published at /pricing and may be revised on 30 days' notice; existing paid subscriptions are unaffected for the remainder of their paid period.
Use of ProofSchool is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference. The key prohibitions are summarised below; the AUP is the authoritative list.
The School owns all data uploaded to ProofSchool and all AI-generated reports derived from that data. The School is the Data Fiduciary; ProofChain is the Data Processor under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (“DPDP Act”). The full posture is documented in our Privacy Policy and operationalised in the Data Processing Addendum executed at subscription start.
ProofChain processes School data only on the School's documented instructions, never sells personal data, and does not use School data to train external models. Parental consent for processing minor data is collected, audit-trailed, and honoured at the platform level.
ProofSchool uses third-party AI models (currently Anthropic Claude Sonnet 4.6) to generate per-teacher narrative reports and to evaluate teaching artifacts against SQAAF-aligned dimensions. These outputs are advisory and supportive, not a substitute for principal judgement. Schools should review AI-generated reports before sharing them with teachers or uploading to SARAS.
ProofChain does not warrant that AI-generated content is error-free. The platform is designed to make AI errors easier to spot (per-dimension scores with explicit justifications; verbatim quote attribution) but the principal-administrator's sign-off remains the human-in-the-loop control on every report.
ProofChain targets 99.5% monthly uptime measured across the public response forms and the admin/report endpoints. Scheduled maintenance is excluded. If a calendar month falls below target through ProofChain's fault, the School may request a credit of up to 10% of the month's pro-rated subscription fee applied to the next renewal.
The School may cancel at any time by emailing hello@proofschool.in. Access remains active through the end of the paid period.
ProofChain may suspend or terminate access without refund for material breach of these Terms or the AUP, including repeated retaliation against teachers, sustained de-anonymisation attempts, or non-payment of overage credit charges that the School has authorised. We will give written notice and a 14-day cure period for non-emergency terminations.
On termination, the School has a 90-day window to export all reports and audit trails. After 90 days, school + student data is purged in accordance with the DPDP Act retention norms; the audit trail of consent and deletion is retained as required by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ProofChain's aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the use of ProofSchool is limited to the subscription fees actually paid by the School in the 12 months preceding the claim. ProofChain is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of accreditation outcome or reputational harm.
The School indemnifies ProofChain against third-party claims arising from the School's breach of the AUP, its failure to obtain parental consent before processing minor data, or its sharing of reports outside the permitted audience.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The parties shall attempt good-faith resolution by exchange of written notice for 30 days before initiating proceedings.
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes (liability, refund, governing law, data handling) take effect on 30 days' notice to the principal-administrator at their registered email. Other changes take effect on publication. Continued use of ProofSchool after notice constitutes acceptance.
In accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediaries Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021, the grievance officer for ProofChain is reachable at grievance@proofchain.in. Acknowledgement within 24 hours; resolution within 15 days of grievance receipt.
